Cardio is good for the body, but very very good for the Brain

Cardio Vascular Training

Cardio training is an important part of our weight loss and fitness program. The amount of calories burned during exercise depends on the type of workout you conduct, its duration and intensity, and your body weight.

In other words, the longer an exercise session and the higher the intensity, the more calories you will burn. A heavy person will burn more calories than someone who weighs less doing the same exercise.

At ultimate results we create a cardio program for individuals who never worked out before and high-level athletes.

Choose the proper cardio that works for you:

High Intensity Interval Training

Here are 7 reasons to start a cardio program:

1: Above all, exercise lifts up your mood, it help reduces chronic stress, anxiety and depression. It was discovered in 1965 that depression is caused by a deficit of three important chemicals (neurotransmitter) in the brain: norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin. These are powerful and important chemicals our brain needs to function on daily, what is important is that exercise helps produce all of these important neurotransmitters in the brain at the right quantity and quality.

2: Exercise can reduce excess body fat and obesity. 69% of US population is over weight or obese. Exercise is the best method to reduce body fat and eliminate countless diseases that comes alone with obesity and excess body fat.

3: Besides helping you lose weight, exercise strengthens the cardiovascular system. A strong heart and lungs reduce high blood pressure. The result is less strain on the vessels in the body and the brain, reducing strain on heart and brain vessels reduces heart attacks and strokes.

4: Exercise also regulates your metabolism. Type 2 Diabetes is a metabolic disease and exercise is the best method to eliminate type 2 diabetes. As we age insulin levels drops and glucose levels remain the same, glucose will face a difficult time getting in to the cells to fuel them. Unused glucose becomes a waste product in the body such as free radicals. Free radicals can hinder immune system by doing it’s job and it can damage blood vessels in body and brain. Weak immune system and damage blood vessels can increase the risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease.

5: The immune system, your internal defense system must be strong so it can fight to eliminate illnesses and diseases. Exercise strengthens the many aspects of the immune system directly. Even in moderate amount exercise boosts up the immune system’s antibodies and lymphocytes, which is also know as T cells. Antibodies attack bacterial and viral infections, and having more T cells makes the body more alert to the development of illnesses such as cancer. Many population studies bear this out: The most constant risk factor for cancer is sedentary lifestyle. People who are physically active and exercise 4-6 times per week, for instance, have a 50 percent lower chance of developing colon cancer.

5: Exercise specially weight training keeps you body structure (muscles and bones) strong and healthy. From book Spark, John J. Ratey: “Osteoporosis afflicts twenty million women and two million men in this country. More women every year die from hip fractures—a vulnerability of osteoporosis—than from breast cancer. Women reach peak bone mass at around thirty, and after that they lose about 1 percent a year until menopause, when the pace doubles. The result is that by age sixty, about 30 percent of a woman’s bone mass has disappeared. Unless, that is, she takes calcium and vitamin D (which comes free with ten minutes of morning sun a day) and does some form of exercise or strength training to stress the bones. Walking doesn’t quite do the job—save that for later in life. But as a young adult, weight training or any sport that involves running or jumping will counteract the natural loss. The degree to which you can prevent the loss is impressive: one study found that women can double their leg strength in just a few months of weight training. Even women in their nineties can improve their strength and prevent this heartbreaking disease”  Exercise increases your motivation to keep taking care of yourself. As you exercise, you naturally lose weight, get fit and look better. Losing weight, getting fit and feeling great is ultimate motivator to continue taking care of your self.

7: Cardio is the only and best way to create neurogenesis (new brain cells) and make the one you already have stronger. And cardio active muscle tissue in upper chambers (atria) of the heart to create a magical protein molecule called atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP). ANP is the antidote to stress chemicals like cortisol and adrenaline; ANP is what cardiologist called a vasodilator. It expands the walls of arteries, veins and capillaries both in the brain and body. ANP, along with vasodilation of arteries, veins and capillaries and chemicals cascades in the brain like serotonin, BDNF, norepinephrine, glutamate and gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) create a ripple effect of feeling great and tranquility through out the body and brain. Your feeling toward how you see the world transforms to something magical.

Exercise & Learning

By now you know the benefits of exercise on the body, are you aware that beside looking and feeling great, exercise is the only mechanism that can also increase your cognitive function, learning and memory. Oh yes with absolutely no side effect.

Whether you a student, a mom or an executive of major corporation, you need your brain to function at optimal level. Cardio and weight training exercises can help you increase cognitive function, memory, learning, and at the same time it will reduce stress at cellular level and make you a healthier person.

New research indicates that exercise makes you smarter, help you learn new things, and reduce memory loss and dementia.

This is how our brain lean new information at cellular level.

In order to lean something new, it’s important to remember that they’re should be little or no distractions.

Learning something important new needs consistent strengthening between neurons through a dynamic mechanism called long-term potentiation (LTP). If the brain is called on to take in information, the demand naturally causes movement between neurons. The more movement, the stronger the attraction develops, greater connections equate to less resistance and the easier it is for the signal to fire and make the connection stronger. If new information is important to us to learn for whatever reason, then dopamine gets released in the brain. Dopamine’s main function is to increases our focus and attention to learn something we consider important, furthermore to help us focus, it reduces the background noises.

At the initial stage, brain cells coordinate glutamate in the axon to be sent across the synapse and reconfigures receptors on the receiving side to accept the signal. When the voltage on the acceptance side of the synapse becomes stronger in its resting state, consequently the receiving side attracts the glutamate signal like a magnet. When the firing continues beyond threshold, DNA genes inside the brain’s cells nucleus are turned on to create more building material for the synapses, and this is how new information stick as a memory and learning (LTP) takes place

Your brain is an adaptable organ that can be molded by stimuli in much the same way as a muscle can be formed by lifting weights.

The more you use it, the stronger and more flexible it becomes. Muscles can get bigger and stronger with weight and cardio training, so can your brain.

At Ultimate Results we provide you with cognitive thinking and proper exercise to create better environment for brain, mind and body to cultivate and improve every aspect of your life and avoid countless illness that can erode the quality of your life. In short at Ultimate Results, we provide you skills not pills!

There many different regions of the brain, each region has specific responsible to perform a specific action. Many regions of the brain must work do it specific function, working together can optimize the function and results. Exercise improves the functions of important regions of the brain. Exercise also stimulate learning, memory and cognitive thinking. Exercise trigger the release of many important neurotransmitter like, serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, glutamate, and gamma amino butyric acid (GABA).

Serotonin: It’s a mood altering neurotransmitter; it influences mood, impulsivity, anger, rage and aggressiveness. It can alter runaway brain activity that can lead to chronic stress, anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Serotonin main function is to provide the feelings of wellbeing and happiness. The feeling of wellbeing and happiness create better self-esteem. Depressed individuals are lack serotonin in frontal cortex. Exercise is the ultimate serotonin creator. It reduces the effect of cortisol and other stress hormones.

Dopamine: A sharp shooting neurotransmitter of mind and brain. It helps you to stay sharp and alert on what is important while, reduces the internal noise and chatter of the brain. Exercise trigger dopamine release and storage in the brain, and it can lead to motivation and attention. Dopamine is the leading antidote to addictions and compulsive behaviors. Is highly active during parasympathetic nervous system mechanism.

Glutamate: Glutamate impacts learning directly, at cellular level, improving the brain’s potential to log in and development of new information. Glutamate is the most abundant excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. Glutamate stimulates neurons and GABA inhibits them in a delicate balancing act.

Aging & Exercise

Prolong imbalance between glutamate and GABA can lead to anxiety, depression, dementia, panic attacks, schizophrenia, and even brain cancer. Exercise can restore the delicate balance between Glutamate and GABA

Gamma Amino-Butyric Acid (GABA): GABA is the most abundant inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. Glutamate stimulates neurons and GABA inhibits them in a delicate balancing act. Prolong imbalance between GABA and glutamate can lead to anxiety, depression, dementia, panic attacks, schizophrenia, and even brain cancer. Exercise can restore the delicate balance between Glutamate and GABA.

Our client's Success is our Success!

I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the results I have achieved from my personal training sessions at Ultimate Results .  Upon a through discussion of my fitness goals and my own fitness concerns, my Personal Trainer was able to design a program that works exclusively for me.  All that I had to do was follow it and be honest with myself.  Over the past several months my strength has increased and I certainly am getting
great definition in my arms and chest.  Plus, my lower back pain has greatly subsided!  Hristo style is low-key but very encouraging.  He is very realistic in the feedback that is provided during our sessions and takes my self-centeredness in stride.
It is a pleasure to work with him and I actually look forward to working out. I would highly recommend Ultimate Results to any new or existing clients.
